I think that it is wondeful that you are reaching out asking for input. I am glad that we met in Twitter. So here are some things that I’d like to add, since you are my “Time Management Guru” buddy.
- Twitter. How can people make the best of it while not falling into it the time trap?
- Content publication. How can bloggers continue to provide their readers with amazing posts, but at the same time budgeting their time better so that they can provide even more!
- Site Growth and Analysis – How can bloggers or other content writers quickly gain the needed info to study their growth and develop a plan to maintain and continue to increase growth, while at the same time, not getting trapped into becoming a traffic stats junkie.

Used to live in Annapolis, College Park and Vienna, missing that beautiful area very much.
I don’t know how much you can help but I am starting a business that is not technical, but I will be using technology to approach prospects. That part I have figured out already. However, I am not entirely sure how social networks will help me make my site a popular one. To be honest with you, last year I was addicted to Facebook but since December, I became a tweet addict. And there is where my problems start. You see, I love tweets, but some times, I get so involved in all the great info out there, and two things happen:
1) I spend too much time reading instead of doing – productivity suffers
2) I have a hard time promoting myself without sounding like I am spamming – the bottom line suffers.
I guess I would love to hear and read more about your take on the phenomenon of social networks from the productivity angle and on how to use it more effectively.

Those are both some very tough issues that actually relate to one another: dividing our time in social media so that it can be effective, and doing it in such a way that doesn’t turn people off. Etiquette I certainly have an opinion on, and publically I can point to some of the people who do things right…and maybe I’ll figure out a way to share some thoughts on people who take an approach I don’t agree with…

Good for you, branching out into video! You know me–I’m all about putting it out there every which way.
I’m really interested right now in tagging and taxonomy, since more and more I’m finding that easy workflow depends on me being able to put my hands on information quickly and easily.
So that’s what I’d like: more information on how to structure your information so it’s easy to find.

Thanks for asking for what we’d like to see. I love your productivity advice, and some topics I’d like to see are:
1. How to develop sensible data purging strategies for the exponential growth in data we are all producing
2. How to keep track of various versions and updates of material we produce – say, for date stamping and retaining different versions of a work. There are good version control products for software development, but I’m basically talking about version control for the entire wide variety of digital products we produce every day.
3. There has been a lot written about how to avoid interruptions. But since this often fails, I’d like to see advice on the best ways to shut down a project when interrupted, and how to resume it after an interruption or hiatus, without losing much productivity in the restart phase.

Victoria, hmm, purging. Yes, I like purging. And version control can be tricky, especially when combined with purging (i.e., now you have MORE files and have to decide what to delete). As for your question about stopping and starting with interruptions present, I should ask one of my employees who works from home with toddlers…

I’m interested in exploring how to manage the ever growing need to be active on social media and the tension it creates for productivity. Twitter and Facebook are two examples, but it seems like there is a new “must participate” site popping up every week. How do you weed out the ones that are here to stay from the passing fads?

I’ll throw a vote in for some posts on happiness. It’s great to be managing our productivity, and all the different technology options out there, but for what purpose? It’s always helpful for me to be reconnected to the bigger picture.
